Chuck Audio Programming

ChucK : Strongly-timed, Concurrent, and On-the-fly Audio Programming Language. Interesting project on on-the-fly audio programming. However, it seems to be not compatible with 64bit systems and demands quite some calculation power for complex patterns. I don't know how active development is - the last release is from October 2007.
Once you get into it, it's really fun. My flatmate had to go through a phase of constant sound experiments though. You press some keys and sound appears... I felt like a little kid once I got going. Some desription here, some commands there and voilá first pattern created. I admit, my first steps where not too virtuos. I didn't dig to deep into it as my old workhorse didn't had enough calculation power for wilder experiments. And now time is slipping trough my hands.
It supports MIDI, OSC, HID device, and multi-channel audio, is great for experimenting with real-time interaction control and audio synthesis/analysis. Probably someone of you will find this intesrting as well. You can find the source code and pre-compiled versions for MacOS X, Linux and Windows 32-bit.
A nice combinations is "The Audicle - A Context-sensitive, On-the-fly Audio Programming Environ/mentality". Follow the corresponding link below to learn more about it.
